The studio and Delphine
To paint, you need a little time and a suitable place. Time can be found, but it is not always easy to paint at home. That is why coming to the studio is not only about learning to paint or improving. It is also about having the use of a large space (42 m²) designed for drawing and painting. A dedicated place.
Having room matters, and so does having materials at your disposal. You can try new things, learn new techniques and surprise yourself. When you walk through the studio door, you enter a space that opens onto creation, and you leave your worries at the door. You concentrate on a profile, a shadow, a glaze, an even mix or a fine perspective. After an hour, you take a break for a coffee and to step back from the work in progress. Then you return to the piece with fresh eyes.

At the Atelier du Mérac, you learn and progress at your own pace, each according to your own wishes, but also carried along by the energy and the eyes of the others.
Delphine du Mérac
Delphine du Mérac is a painter; she has lived and worked in Paris since 2003.
For seven years she ran classes for an association whose focus was the personal development of people with disabilities through artistic creation. Before settling in Paris, Delphine travelled for two years in South America and Asia. A long journey, meeting people along the way. A journey in which drawing and painting were her first means of expression. She made hundreds of drawings, some of them left behind along the way, given to the people she met. Delphine then trained at the Ateliers Beaux-Arts of the City of Paris.
Delphine du Mérac sees painting as an exchange of emotions: between the painter and the model, between the canvas and the viewer. For when emotion floods everything, painting is the only possible way out.
With her wide palette and her unexpected eye, Delphine du Mérac draws us into a very personal world, in which living beings, human or animal, take the leading role and fill the canvas. Their emotions become ours, with colour as the conductor of warmth.
